Big Stick Adventures delivered an itinerary combining Melbourne’s iconic sportingbackground, Port Phillip Bay and the CBD with various modes of transport – from Ferraris andclassic Jaguars to helicopters and Harley-Davidsons – in what was the largest event of its typethe city has ever seen.The main challenges of this event lay in the large number of participants and limitedtimeframe for moving the group. All 450 delegates needed to be entertained simultaneously andreturned to their hotel within a five-hour window.The range of experiences also had to prove exciting to the diverse group, which had cometo Melbourne from across the country.To achieve this, Big Stick Adventures designed the event so that delegates could choosetheir adventure before they arrived in Melbourne.This was done via a dedicated website that provided delegates with an opt-in mechanismthat also ensured heightened anticipation and delegate enthusiasm on the day. ExecutionHarvey Norman delegates chose between three Melbourne experiences. One group travelledvia classic vehicle, exotic sports car or Harley-Davidson motorcycle to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) where they enjoyed a tour of the ground, followed by lunch with aspecial guest speaker.The second group opted for 100 per cent action with a jet-boat ride on Port Phillip Bay,helicopter flight over the city and seaside barbecue lunch.A third group let loose their competitive spirit and put the pedal to the metal for aprofessional go-kart experience, followed by a presentation ceremony and lunch. The lattertwo groups returned to Crown Towers via the exotic vehicles, ensuring all delegates had theopportunity to experience these unique modes of transport.Big Stick Adventures liaised closely with Harvey Norman and conference venue Crown Casinoon the event’s logistics. A team of ten Big Stick staff were on hand to ensure seamlessdelivery of the programme at each venue.“The event drew on a large number of our most luxurious and prestige experiences, andtied them all together in a dynamic event that showcased Melbourne as the excitementcapital that it is,” says Big Stick director Brett Hollis.
