Guinness taps IMG for sports property

ASIA-PACIFIC - Diageo has selected IMG to manage Guinness' first regional sponsorship of a sports property. The sport marketing group was awarded the account following a final shootout with 141 Sports & Entertainment (Media, 6 October).

Incumbent Grayling will handle media and communications duties, while roster agencies OgilvyOne and Saatchi & Saatchi are to retain creative.

James Wong, regional marketing manager of Guinness, said the property would be announced next January.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Guinness is a long-time sponsor of the English Rugby Union Premiership, a US$49 million account managed by Karen Earl Sponsorship.
