Guangzhou Daily launches TV blitz

GUANGZHOU - Guangzhou Daily has launched a new TV campaign as part of an ongoing effort to rebrand itself around qualities of honesty and pragmatism.

Entitled ‘Embracing the new Guangzhou for a grand future', the TVCs are created by Guangdong Ping Cheng Advertising, and feature famous icons who are synonymous with the broadsheet's "forthright" editorial standing.

The spots include Zhong Nam-shan, the biochemist who became well-known during the Sars outbreak in 2003, as along with ballet dancer Zhang Dan-dan, and fashion designer Liu Yang.

"Zhong's honesty and pragmatic approach to management problems is very close to Guangzhou Daily's editorial style," said Guangdong Ping Cheng assistant GM Frank Yu.

The spot will be run on CCTV, City TV, Pearl River Channel and Focus Media starting from early April.
