GroupM poised to ink Vietnam deal with VAC

HO CHI MINH CITY - GroupM is expected to acquire a minority stake in Vietnam's largest advertising agency, Vietnam Advertising Company (VAC).

While GroupM executives could not be reached for comment, it is believed that the WPP unit will buy a 30 per cent stake in VAC’s media-related business, giving them management control of the relevant operations.

The deal, which is expected to be signed in London on Wednesday, is thought to include buying and trading, along with content and sponsorship. It also means that management of GroupM agency MEC will now shift from VAC to GroupM.
