GroupM and Disney in regional charity drive

SINGAPORE - GroupM, along with Hong Kong Disneyland and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, have extended its regional charity drive in Singapore to help terminally ill children locally.

Through its Power of One project, it has involved the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, a Mindshare client, to allow another Make-A-Wish guest - 4-year old Singaporean cancer patient, Ashley, to visit the theme park. Since opening its doors in September 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has fulfilled the wishes of more than 100 Make-A-Wish children and their families on visits to the Park.

“Children are at the heart of the charitable efforts of The Walt Disney Company and Hong Kong Disneyland. Everyone here at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort was very happy to welcome Ashley and make her dreams come true today. Our gates will always be open to these Make-A-Wish children and we will do all we can to ensure their experiences are truly magical,” said Ben Wong, marketing director, regional business, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Over the last 28 years, Disney has continued to support the Make-A-Wish mission, contributing more than US$11 million in cash and in-kind donations on an annual basis.
