In its suit, Grey alleged that its former top executives and co-investors in Thailand - CEO On-Usa Lamliengpol and her husband vice-president and executive creative director Garry Boyd Cooper - violated company policy and caused financial damage.
Grey also alleged in the suit that the pair planned to resign to work as partners with rival agency Spalding and Co, a violation of their contracts.
The bulk of the suit relates to three companies that the Grey Group and the defendants set up in the late '90s.
Grey Thailand is suing for the registration of the companies (62,400 baht), money the companies received from clients (173.85 million baht) and money left in the bank accounts of the three companies (1.1 million baht). The remainder of the suit relates to a 20 million baht company loan the pair stood as guarantors. It was alleged the pair repaid the loan before its due date using Grey Thailand funds meant for sub-contractor Optimum Media Direction. On-Usa and Cooper have filed cases with the Thai Labour Court for wrongful termination and have declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Grey said all its local and multinational clients, including P&G, Mars and Wrigley have remained with it.
