Grey names Lin Greater China head
Grey Global Group has named JWT Taipei chairman Steve Lin as its Greater China chief.

Lin's appointment comes as the agency seeks to set up a wholly-owned operation in China following its split with local JV partner Citic Guoan. "We're setting up a full-owned enterprise in the short term, but are not closed to domestic partners," said Mike Amour, Grey Global Group chairman and CEO, Asia-Pacific.

Lin (pictured) replaces Dennis Wong, who left the agency after seven months in the role. He joins Grey after more than 9 years at JWT Taipei.

"Steve (Lin) will be based in Shanghai. This is the first time that Grey has run the Greater China business out of the mainland," added Amour.

Mark Bainbridge, meanwhile, has been named to lead JWT's Taiwan operation.
