Grey Indonesia nets Avena

JAKARTA - Grey Indonesia has won the creative and media account for cooking oil brand Avena after a four-way pitch that involved Ogilvy, DDB and BBDO.

Agus Sudradjat, CEO of Grey Indonesia confirmed the news and said that oil brand, whose distribution was limited to hotels, restaurants and cafes is looking to transform itself into a consumer brand.

In addition to Avena, Grey along with First Edition has also picked up Bank Mandiri’s credit card activation business after a four-way pitch.

The agency has also picked up creative business for Mayora, one of Indonesia’s largest food company, after a three-way pitch that involved Leo Burnett and Artek. It is unclear which brand the agency will be handling.

Avena Pacific is owned Pacific Indomas (PIM), a company set up in Indonesia in 1999 to promote the group’s edible oil trading business and marketing of diverse range of branded consumer goods within the country. PIM is actively engaged in procuring crude palm oil for refining and exports of palm oil products in bulk to China and the Indian Subcontinent.

PIM’s key brands in Indonesia include Avena, Madina, Twist and Juliet.
