Ku (pictured) came onboard yesterday and will work closely with general manager Bernard Wong across the agency's key client portfolio which includes GSK, AXA, Uni-President, Vanke and Chang Yu.
Ku was most recently the brand creative director for China’s sports apparel giant Li Ning Sports, and before that the ECD at Leo Burnett Shanghai and Beijing for four years, where he won the Li Ning account.
Ku has over 20 years' creative experience on both agency and client side, including 11 years in key Chinese markets in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. During his career, he crafted award-winning campaigns for heavyweight brands like P&G, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Wrigley’s.
"Having worked in the three main business cities in China for the last decade, I have a better understanding of the ever-changing China market and local business cultures," Ku said. "During my year working on the client side at Li Ning, I also gained the perspective of what solutions clients really want, instead of what agencies believe clients would want."
“Attlee has a strong belief in creating values to clients through effective ideas, has an outstanding track record in building a strong creative culture, and nurturing young creative talents,” said Danny Mok, CEO of Grey Group Hong Kong and Shanghai.
