Greater China: Burns and Lin fill MD post at IPG's Taiwan PR shops
TAIPEI: Interpublic agencies Weber Shandwick and GolinHarris have unveiled a new management lineup for their Taiwan operations, to follow the departure of managing director Diane Wu to Shanghai in March 2004. Darren Burns becomes MD of GolinHarris, while Nikki Lin has been promoted to general manager of Weber Shandwick. Both Burns and Lin were previously vice-presidents of the same agencies, and were responsbile for day-to-day operations in Taipei, after Wu added the Shanghai MD role to her existing position as MD of both shops. Wu now relinquishes her Taiwan position to concentrate on China. "Darren and Nikki have really risen to the challenge," said Weber Shandwick Asia-Pacific president and GolinHarris regional director Andrew Pirie. "It's a good time to complete the transition and give both brands clarity.
