The new office will include a regional support competency centre, as well as engineering and training facilities. It will host more than 30 staff members, supporting Grass Valley's business in Southeast Asia, as well as the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Alain Andreoli, president and CEO of Grass Valley, said the emerging markets are now "the centre of the world", and the company is looking to focus its businesses here. Some 50 per cent of its growth in the first half of this year will come from emerging markets, he said.
“Asia-Pacific is a market that is very important to Grass Valley’s continued growth and this new office is the centerpiece of a company-wide initiative to help customers where they work, to design and deploy the most efficient and cost-effective workflow infrastructures available today,” he added.
Andrew Sedek, senior vice president for Grass Valley Asia-Pacific, said, “We’re excited to move to this new office. Together with our continuous efforts to expand the Asia-Pacific team, this is a strategic step by Grass Valley to carry on its commitment to increase investment in this region. It also illustrates our confidence in a brilliant future for the broadcast sector in Asia-Pacific.”
Grass Valley is also looking to introduce a video production center switcher to the Asian market, as part of a series of educational seminars taking place this month.
