Yu takes up a regional role as director of new initiatives, based in Google HQ in Mountain View, California.
He departs the region after taking up the Hong Kong role in late 2005, but will continue to oversee regional business development.
Meanwhile, Kuei will be responsible for leading business strategy and development for Google Taiwan and Hong Kong.
In addition, Google has appointed Emmauel Sauquet as director of wireless business development for Asia and Latin America, based in Hong Kong.
