Goodyear pools regional creative into McCann

BANGKOK - Goodyear has consolidated its regional creative account into McCann WorldGroup.

McCann’s Bangkok office won the business after a four-way involving Ogilvy China, the Australian agency Traffic and Ohio-based HFC, which were all Goodyear incumbents.

The IPG agency will initially work on a brief to launch Goodyear's new premium line of tyres, Assurance, which debuted in the US six months ago. McCann reclaims the tyre maker's regional account after losing it in 2004, when the account was decentralised and run market by market.

The pitch was called three weeks ago, and agencies were given the weeks to answer the brief. McCann is believed to have won the business based on its creative and strategic strengths.
