Good quits Tribal DDB for Clemenger NZ role

ASIA-PACIFIC - Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific president Adam Good is stepping down from the agency he founded, just months after he was promoted to the regional role.

Good is departing the network to take up a role as executive director of digital innovation at Clemenger Group New Zealand, where he will oversee advertising, interactive and direct across Colenso BBDO and direct shop Aim Proximity.

“It’s now the right time for a new challenge, and I look forward to continuing my association with Omnicom through my new role,” he said.

Having been with the network for eight years, Good’s move marks the second key regional departure in six months, after chief creative officer Paul Catmur left in December to become executive creative director of Y&R Australia and New Zealand.

DDB sources said the agency was having a difficult time gaining critical mass in Asia-Pacific.

“We left China way too late, and we have to work on the fact that Hong Kong is no longer a force.”

DDB Asia-Pacific president and CEO John Zeigler said Good’s move was part of a wider restructure for the network, adding a series of further changes would be announced shortly. “We’ve been in the process of making these changes for some time, and we have changed management at all of our key offices recently,” said Zeigler.

“Revenue has been growing faster than expected, but we’re not without challenges. Our entry into China was a bit later than we would have liked, and we’re still establishing a strategy in India.”

He declined to reveal when Good’s replacement would be named.
