Goldman's expands PR scope
<p>Global investment bank Goldman Sachs has hired Eddie Naylor as its </p><p>first-ever executive director of media relations for Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Naylor joins from ING Barings where he was Asian head of corporate </p><p>communications for three years. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The US bank felt the need to create the new post as a result of the </p><p>growth in financial services in Asia and its debut on the stock market </p><p>last year, according to Lucas Van Praag, Goldman's director of corporate </p><p>communications, EMEA. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The US is an incredibly mature and important market for Goldman's, but </p><p>in terms of great potential, that lies in Europe and Asia," he said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Naylor's brief is to lead media relations across Asia-Pacific, </p><p>excluding Japan. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>A similar role in Japan will be taken by Orlando Camargo, who joins at </p><p>the same time, after three years as vice-president of </p><p>Fleishman-Hillard's Tokyo office. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>He has been named vice-president of corporate communications, Japan. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>They will both report to Peter Rose, Asian director of corporate </p><p>communications. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Rose said the media relations role will bring the bank's PR team for </p><p>the region up to full strength for the foreseeable future. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Goldman Sachs retains Hill & Knowlton as its regional agency.
