Godfrey to depart Bates for Publicis

Publicis has confirmed the hire of Bates Asia regional COO Matthew Godfrey as its new regional head of international clients (Media, February 14). Godfrey leaves Bates after 17 years, and will report to Publicis regional chairman Guillaume Levy-Lambert. Godfrey relocated from Bates Australia to Bates Asia in 1994 as Vietnam GM before shifting to Singapore, and a succession of regional roles, in 1997. "After 17 years, I think Bates needs people with new ideas and there's a good crew who can be the next generation," he said.
