Glasstech show comes to IMPACT

The company's biggest exhibition in ten years attracted more than 4,000 delegates

THE BRIEF
Glasstech Asia 2007 is Southeast Asia’s biggest and most influential international glass exhibition. This edition was Glasstech Asia’s biggest show in ten years with more than 4,000 visitors on the lookout for good deals throughout the three-day event.

CHALLENGES
The main challenge in coordinating Glasstech Asia was the potential trouble from the Thai general election that was scheduled after the event. Exhibitors were more cautious and adopted a wait-andsee approach.

In addition, Glasstech Asia was competing against another industry trade show running
at the same time.

Extra effort went into ensuring a return on investment for the exhibitors. Organisers
launched a Pre-Scheduled Appointment Programme with this in mind. The programme allowed exhibitors and buyers to meet online and schedule appointments before the exhibition.

To ensure quality buyers attended, a hosted-buyer programme targeted potential buyers pre-nominated by exhibitors.

EXECUTION
A three-day session of technical seminars presented by leading industry figures focused
on specialist topics. Many delegates remarked that they looked forward to more seminars
from Glasstech Asia.

Jointly organised by Conference & Exhibition Management Services and the Singapore Glass Association, Glasstech Asia enjoys the strong support of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau and various regional trade associations.

VERDICT
Exhibitors at Glasstech Asia were satisfied with the results of the show. DuPont Glass
Laminating Solutions Thailand account executive, Yuthana Kulintharapraaert, says:
“We’ve made numerous good business contacts and had several deals on the table.
We’ll definitely be back and expect next year’s show to be bigger and better.”

Glasstech Asia 2008 will be held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre from November 20-22 in Ho Chi Minh City.
