Gilzene to head DDB health offer

DDB is expanding its specialist healthcare offering, appointing Kerry Gilzene to lead the division as general manager.

Gilzene joins from Ogilvy Healthworld Singapore, and also possesses a decade of global marketing experience with GSK, along with four years as vice-president of Aptilon Health. At DDB Health, Gilzene is tasked with extending the agency's offering into the medical device and biotechnology markets. "After 18 months on the agency-side in Singapore, I believe the standard of marketing is as good as anywhere in the world," said Gilzene. "The difference here is that clients are more directly focused on activities and spend which will boost their bottom line." DDB's healthcare capabilities in the region have previously focused on Australia, where ethical healthcare arm DDB Remedy has carved out a successful niche representing such clients as Novartis, Amgen and Schering-Plough.
