GH promotes Hew to new role amid senior reshuffle

GolinHarris has reshuffled its regional management, promoting Hong Kong managing director CT Hew to the newly-created position of vice chairman for Greater China.

Former deputy MD John Morgan will succeed Hew as Hong Kong MD, as the agency builds on its recent expansion into Greater China, which saw it open a Guangzhou office in addition to strengthening its Beijing and Shanghai teams. According to Hew, the creation of his role is a reflection of current client expectations. "It's a question of clients and what their needs are these days," explained Hew. "I think they like us to bring a thoughtful approach to their business issues. It's also a question of time -- clients are facing tremendous pressure in terms of time and priority so we need to respond quickly." Hew had been Hong Kong MD at the agency since 2001, before which he was president for Greater China and managing partner of Scotchbrook-BSMG Worldwide.
