Janssen takes on the new role, from his previous leadership position as managing director of GfK Asia. It essentially adds oversight responsibility for China and Japan to his previous portfolio of the Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India markets.
He will continue to be based in Singapore, and report to Gerard Hausruckinger, chief operating officer of GfK Retail and Technology, based in Nürnberg, Germany.
Meanwhile, Stanley Kee, GfK's regional commercial director, has been promoted to lead all of Southeast Asia as managing director for that region. He will also continue in his commercial directorship role, coordinating business activities across Asia-Pacific.
And Benny Villanueva has been brought in to manage GfK's Philippines operations. The new general manager comes with over 35 years' research experience in both agency and client-side roles, and has held senior roles with both Neilsen and Ipsos in Taiwan.
He will report to Kee, who, in turn, will report to Janssen.
