SYDNEY - After a statutory review the Department of Defence has awarded its Defence Force Recruiting advertising account to George Patterson Y&R (GPY&R).

George Patterson Y&R retains Australian Defence Force Recruiting
GPY&R has held the account for 10 years and has again successfully defended the business pitching against at least seven other agencies.

GPY&R national CEO Russel Howcroft said: “Defence has undertaken a rigorous process to ensure they chose the right marketing partner for its future needs. This is a significant endorsement of the agency, its work and its vision for the business. The Patts team worked tirelessly throughout the process and their tenacity has paid off. There is a formidable commitment to continually improve our capability and partnership with Defence Force Recruiting."

When Defence first appointed George Patterson Y&R recruitment was at 56 per cent of their target. Today it is over 90 per cent.

In December last year, James Procter, ECD at George Patterson Y&R’s Sydney office, took on the role of chief creative officer of Y&R Singapore.
