Genting selects M&C Saatchi

Genting International, the Malaysian resorts giant that won a billion-dollar contract to develop Singapore's Sentosa Integrated Resort last month, has awarded its advertising account to M&C Saatchi.

M&C won the business on the back of an assignment which Genting awarded to M&C's brand consultancy unit,  The Distillery.

Genting International, which is reportedly investing US$3.1 billion in the new Resorts World casino, declined to comment on the news.

The casino complex will compete with Las Vegas Sands, a $3.6 billion project being developed in Singapore's Marina Bay.

In the same week, M&C won a three-way pitch for a brand campaign for NUS (National University of Singapore), with a brief to create a stronger brand image for Singapore's largest university, which has been struggling to differentiate itself.

The agency has also launched a new campaign for the Singapore Institute of Management. The new work builds on last year's effort with a TV push.
