Genting International taps M&C Saatchi

SINGAPORE - Genting International, the resorts giant which won a US$ 3.4 billion bid to develop an integrated resort (IR) on Singapore's Sentosa island last month, has awarded the advertising account for its casinos project to M&C Saatchi.

M&C division The Distillery won the brand consultancy assignment for Sentosa IR, with M&C Saatchi subsequently awarded the advertising business following a credentials presentation.

On winning the contract in December, Genting committed to pumping S$3.85 billion (US$2.5 billion) into turning Sentosa's Resorts World into a global tourism icon by 2010.

Singapore's two new casinos are expected to add up to three per cent to the country's GDP by 2015.
