Under the 10-year agreement, a new company - Mark Burnett Productions Asia (MBPA) - will be formed and the two partners will hold equal equity.
The S$20 million venture covers all of Asia, excluding Japan. In addition to producing Asian versions of popular reality shows such as Survivor and The Apprentice, MBPA will also develop original television programs for international audiences.
Currently, local production house Imagine OmniMedia is filming The Contender Asia, a popular reality TV series by Mark Burnett Productions. MBPA will be based in Resorts World at Sentosa, Genting’s first casino development in Singapore. The S$5 billion casino will be used for shoot locations once it is completed in 2010.
