Gearing promoted to Tequila\Beijing GM

<P>Tequila\Shanghai director of CRM Ross Gearing has been promoted to general manager of Beijing, as the agency ramps up its China offer with the opening of two new offices earlier this month.</P> <P>According to recently-appointed MD of Tequila\ China, David Hunt, Gearing has been an integral driver of the agency's Shanghai growth over the last two years. </P> <P>Gearing, who will continue to report to Hunt, has been tasked with boosting the agency's Beijing offer to its existing Shanghai client base, as well as spearheading new business growth.</P> <P>Tequila has also opened an office in Guangzhou, which will serve the southern mainland, although Hunt noted the agency was yet to appoint a chief in that market.</P> <P>"We have so many clients with activities in those two other markets, so it made sense to offer them a presence, instead of flying around all the time," he said.</P> <P>"It will be an advantage when we're going forward pitching new business, because we have extra resources."<BR>Replacing Gearing is Enko van Arnim, who joins as group business director, CRM, from Grey Relationship Marketing in Shanghai. </P> <P>Prior to Grey, he worked at McCann Relationship Marketing for six years. During his career he has worked on a number of blue-chip brands, including Dell and Purina.</P> <P> </P>
