The news comes in the wake of current Batey ECD Ng Tian It’s decision to move to Lowe Greater China in Shanghai.
Ng joined Batey in February this year, as the WPP shop's first ECD since the loss of its longstanding Singapore Airlines account. During his tenure, Batey secured Mitsubishi and potential business from Audi and Qatar Airways. Ng will begin working at Lowe in November, based in Shanghai, where he will lead creative teams in China and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Gaxiola leaves BatesAsia after two years, and shortly after Nokia ended its 14-year above-the-line relationship with the network. At Bates, Gaxiola led global work on Heineken and Nokia and secured awards for the office such as Clios, Spikes and Cannes Lions.

His departure coincides with a formation of IDEAS hub, an integrated, media-neutral team of BatesAsia's regional creatives. This team comprises of regional ECD Sonal Dabral, regional digital CD John Lambie, 141 ECD Steve Llewellyn and Singapore CD Raymond Quah.
