Gaxiola makes temporary US switch

SINGAPORE - Robert Gaxiola (pictured), the as ECD of Batey, is moving back to the US temporarily, a move which sees copywriters Andrew Hook and Jury Gregorio promoted to creative director and associate creative director, respectively.

Gaxiola, who joined Batey from BatesAsia in October last year, will continue to operate as the agency's ECD, but will be spending significant periods of time in the US on compassionate leave.

Alan Fairington, CEO of Batey, commented: "Rob is heading off to the US over Chinese New Year and will work from there for the time being. We look forward to his speedy return and hope that there is a happy outcome for he and his family."

He added: "Andrew [Hook] has continued to grow as a strong conceptualiser and respected creative leader, and has the ability and commitment to play a key role in Batey's future. Jury [Gregorio] has proven his skills as both a creator of outstanding work, and as a mature manager who can orchestrate the flow of creative work through the agency."

"Rob [Gaxiola] has been most impressed with both of these very talented people, and has recommended that they be given the responsibility and titles that reflect their real roles within the agency."
