G.O.D chiefs claim police raid will not affect the brand

HONG KONG - G.O.D Hong Kong chiefs believe a high-profile police raid over the store's sale of 14K t-shirts and postcards will not negatively affect the brand.

The products displaying the name 14K, which is also the name of a well-known Hong Kong triad group, have been confiscated, with police arresting and releasing almost 20 people in connection with the sales. G.O.D founder and CEO Douglas Young, said the raid impinges on the creativity of designers.

“For Hong Kong’s creative industries to blossom, artists and designers must be allowed more creative freedom. At the moment we are lagging behind many other advanced world cultures.”

The raid was carried out after coverage in the Chinese-language dailies.
