FutureBrand grows China leadership

SHANGHAI - Branding consultancy FutureBrand has hired Monica Lee (pictured) and Andre Hsieh to lead its Greater China operation as co-managing directors.

Additionally, Hong Kong managing director Po Chueng has been promoted to executive director to oversee Southern China, while business development director Edward Chau becomes executive director in Beijing to focus on the mainland.

Lee and Hsieh will be based in Shanghai and Hong Kong respectively. The four will comprise an executive committee and report directly to Gavin Coombes, the firm’s Asia-Pacific chief executive.

Coombes described the developments as “the first step in a long-term plan to have a series of full-service offices throughout Greater China”, and as a move to build integration with sister companies within IPG.

Prior to joining FutureBrand, Lee served as general manager and senior consultant at The Brand Union in Shanghai; Hsieh, who has also worked at The Brand Union as managing director in Taiwan and chief creative officer for China, most recently founded the consultancy SALT Designworks in Taiwan.
