FutureBrand Asia chief departs

ASIA-PACIFIC - Asia-Pacific CEO of FutureBrand Gavin Coombes (pictured) is leaving the agency two years into the job as part of a restructuring of the branding agency's regional operations.

The agency has appointed Tim Riches, currently MD of FutureBrand Australia, to the newly created roles of CEO Singapore and chief growth officer for Asia-Pacific. Taking over Riches’ role in FutureBrand Australia will be Erminio Putignano, currently head of strategy. 

Coombes, previously a VP of Euro RSCG 4D, will continue to work on key brands until September, before leaving in the fourth quarter. 

Patrick Smith, the president and COO and of FutureBrand Worldwide, said: “Tim’s focus will be on adding value to FutureBrand’s clients, partners and teams across the region, fostering collaboration at every level.”

It is understood that the CEOs in individual markets will report directly to Smith, with no like-for-like replacement for Coombes’ role.

Prior to joining the branding agency, Coombes was the VP of Euro RSCG 4D for Asia.
Riches has 15 years experience in the branding sector, 10 of them with FutureBrand as strategist then managing director.
