FT bolsters Asia team

HONG KONG - The Financial Times has promoted four of its senior staff members in Asia and made a new hire.

Daniel Molloy (pictured), who was previously based in Tokyo as the regional advertising director for North Asia and the FT’s chief representative in Japan, will be moving to Hong Kong to take up the newly created position of deputy commercial director. An extension of Molloy’s previous role, his new responsibilities will include revenues for FTChinese.com and associated products.

With Molloy’s move to the SAR, Hiroko Hoshino regional online director has seen her role grow to include heading the Tokyo office and becomnig the FT’s corporate representative in Japan, while overseeing FT.com’s pan-Asian ad sales and online business.

New hire Claire Breen Melwani will be based in Hong Kong. As director of luxury sales and partnerships, she will handle business development activities for the luxury goods sector.

John McClure has been promoted to country manager for Singapore, a role that includes responsibility for content syndication revenue and administrative matters associated with the FT in Singapore.

Maralyn Ho rounds off the slew of promotions. As director of advertising for Greater China, she will look after advertising staff and revenue for the FT newspaper and associated print products in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
