Frenzoo to launch in Asia

HONG KONG - A new virtual world social networking site called Frenzoo is about to launch in Asia.

Frenzoo, an Asia-centric 3D virtual world aimed at teenage girls, will soon come out of stealth mode to connect consumers in a Second Life-like experience. Frenzoo, which will be available as a downloadable programme, will let users build personalised avatars and offer branded items ranging from fashion, FMCG, electronics and media. The network has been in development for two years and has already signed up some up-and-coming fashion labels, including Japanese/Chinese fusion label Liucia, Frenzoo managing director Simon Newstead told an Asia Digital Marketing Association meeting. The site will be monetised by offering an in-site shopping experience, in an effort to pull consumers to brands. “There’s no advertising on Frenzoo — we’re not trying to push key-word advertising or banner advertising,” Newstead said. Currently Frenzoo is open to users by invitation only.
