FremantleMedia MD Adams quits, Schult takes over

Sue Adams, who was responsible for bringing TV shows such as Idols and X-factor to Asia, is stepping down from her post as managing director of Fremantle Productions Asia, with Patrick Schult appointed as her successor.

Previously, Schult was FremantleMedia's director of operations for production and development in Southern Europe. He also aided in the development of licensing and programming Asia. "Patrick and I have been working together in Asia since 1995, so this will make for an easy and smooth transition," said Adams. During her tenure, Adams expanded FremantleMedia's Asian operations, particularly in Japan and China. She will continue to work as a consultant with the company until April, whereupon she plans to leave the TV industry to pursue full time studies in Singapore. FremantleMedia opened its Asian outfit, Fremantle Productions Asia, in 1995. It has since launched the Idols franchise in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and India. The company has also produced localised versions of classic game shows such as Family Feud, The Price Is Right, Man O Man and Small Talk. Its Asia-Pacific headquarters is located in Singapore, with regional offices in Indonesia, India and Japan.
