Free media buying is the future of social media marketing: Blugrapes

SINGAPORE - Digital marketing consultancy Blugrapes says it will be the first in Singapore to offer Facebook advertising at ‘cost price’ to clients.

The company says this supports Blugrapes’ belief that social media marketing is not just about advertising, but rather about long term consumer conversations and engagement strategies.

“It is about time the social media marketing industry walk the talk.  We challenge fellow agencies to follow us and take action in our common belief that social media is never just about advertising.  Rather, it’s always been about the content, connections, community, conversations and consistency,” said Ryan Lim, business director of Blugrapes.

The current agency billing models include an up to 15 per cent agency service charge on top of the actual media budget.

Blugrapes’ new business model allows marketers to purchase social media advertising at cost. In effect, this means that marketers are now able to save up to 15 per cent of their social media budgets. The company says it is first in the industry to waive the agency service charge - effective immediately. Blugrapes believes this supports the industry’s view of social media being one of the most accurately quantifiable marketing channels currently available, providing marketers inarguable impact and assured ROI on their social media spend.

“We see this free media buying model as the future, to push boundaries and raise the overall level of effective social media marketing executions everywhere.”

Blugrapes recently won the Estee Lauder Singapore social media retainer and works with other brands such as Sephora, HTC, Long John Silver’s and Dulux amongst others.

Founded in 2006, Blugrapes is a performance driven marketing company providing Facebook marketing, mobile marketing, media tracking and integrated digital marketing solutions. Its clients include Fortune 500 companies such as Coca-Cola, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, L’Oreal and many others in the consumer marketing industry.
