According to agency sources, the shortlist involves incumbent Mediavest, MEC, MPG and OMD, and among the company’s main considerations is choosing an agency that is best poised to expand the brand’s presence in Asia.
Sources add that the company currently works with Mediavest outside of Asia but does not have an agency of record.
Activision Blizzard is the US$18.8 billion joint venture between Activision, which developed Guitar Hero, and the French company Vivendi Games, holder of World of Warcraft’s producer Blizzard.
Additionally, in its first-quarter financial report released yesterday, the company posted better-than-expected quarterly revenues, reporting sales of $724m, beating earlier estimates. It also saw saws revenue growth from $325 million to $981 million from the same period last year.
