Four in the fray for SIA global media business

SINGAPORE - Four agencies - OMD, Carat, Starcom Mediavest and incumbent MEC - are believed to have responded to the Singapore Airlines tender RFI for its US$50 million media planning and buying business.

The RFI, which is the first phase of the tender, asks agencies to provide information on a range of criteria, including agency leadership, media planning, budget management, strategic experience and international network. Agencies are also asked to provide one case study. The deadline for RFI submission was 22 September.

In the second phase shortlisted agencies will need to contest an RFP exercise. The announcement on shortlisted agencies will be made by 7 October, before the RFP release, and the briefing will be conducted on 13 October. Presentations are expected to take place the week commencing 3 November.
According to the tender document, “interested agencies should have integrated marketing communication capabilities, the ability to build a network to match SIA’s global reach, a good track record in managing online and digital media and experience in working with global brands.”
