Former Asia-Pacific media chiefs launch consulting firm

SINGAPORE - Three former regional media agency chiefs - Richard Halmarick, Alan Robertson and Allan Medforth (pictured respectively) - are launching a company aimed at helping clients develop and manage their media agency relationships.

Kinesis has plans to work with affiliates in key Asian markets.

Halmarick is the former CEO of Aegis and CEO of Carat Asia South, Robertson was the former CEO of Merchant & Partners and also CEO and chairman of Initiative Australia, while Medforth, was former chairman of Universal McCann Australia and CEO of UM Asia-Pacific. All three will work personally with clients.

Kinesis is designed to enable clients to make more informed and effective decisions in briefing, judging, appointing and implementing their media agency relationships.

Halmarick said that his Kinesis partners had extensively researched the positioning of the company in forming its business plan.

“We will help clients decipher agency claims to uniqueness and performance, as well as work with client teams to eliminate practices or structures that are barriers to an agency achieving higher levels of performance. It’s a two way street.”

Halmarick added: “We are prepared to move into situations where clients would much rather repair any difficulties and issues with their media agencies, than go to the expense and upset of a review and appointment of a new agency… But if a review is inevitable or necessary, we will help clients manage that process as well.”
