FOCUS: THE 2ND ESPN STAR SPORTS MEDIA BOWLING COMPETITION 2000 (SINGAPORE) - ESS Sports Bash A Hit!
<p>The 2nd ESPN STAR Sports Media Bowling Competition 2000, held in </p><p>conjunction with the Singapore leg of the Asian Bowling Tour 2000, took </p><p>place at the Cathay Bowl in Singapore on August 11. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>With more than 70 budding bowlers from the ad industry and client side, </p><p>competition was intense and spirits were high ... and rising by the </p><p>minute! </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Beer consumption reached new highs and subsequently some participants </p><p>were caught aiming for the gutter instead of the pins. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>After three hours of intense competition (not!) trying to knock pins </p><p>down, Times Publishing Group emerged as the champion in the Group </p><p>Category, beating CGU Insurance (the First Runner-up) and Impiric (the </p><p>Second Runner-up, who incidentally, were the First Runner-up in our </p><p>inaugural event) for the prize money, trophies and goodie bags. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In the Individual Category, representatives from Times Publishing Group </p><p>clinched all available honours! Team leader, Ramlee Sutan Muda was </p><p>champion and team mates David Long and Rahmat Yusoff were the First and </p><p>Second Runners-up respectively. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Special awards were also presented to both the Gutter King and Queen, </p><p>the Best Group Spirit-in-Action, the Best Bowling Form and the Most </p><p>Excitable Bowler. In short, everyone had a ball; no pun intended. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>After Singapore, the Asian Bowling Tour moves on to Thailand, Korea and </p><p>Hong Kong before finishing off in Manila early next year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Keep a look-out for more bowling action coming your way. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
