Zenith Media has begun experimenting with the use of holograms to
give outdoor ads in China greater impact.
Zenith China deputy MD Steven Chang said the medium, 'high definition
volumetric display' (HDVD), was developed by US company DMA and has been
used by Pepsi and Motorola for new product launches.
"In Asia, it has been used quite a bit in Japan and we are now
encouraging our China clients to use it because it grabs people's
attention," he said.
But Mr Chang added that it's still early days for the medium in the
country.
"In China, HDVD has not been used as an ad medium yet, but it has
already been used in exhibition showcases," he told MEDIA.
