Singapore is flush with pride following Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore

winning the Best of the Best accolade at MEDIA's recent 1999 Asian

Advertising Awards.

Nowhere was this more evident than at the Awards Showcase in the Lion

City's Grand Hyatt Hotel, where the winning entries from the Awards were

put under the spotlight.

More than 150 people from both the agency and client sides turned up to

be inspired, to figure out the ingredients needed to create and produce

an award-winning work, or to simply have a look.

The Asian Advertising Awards showcase - an annual event in Singapore and

now in its sixth year - was organised by MEDIA and sponsored by ESPN

Star Sports.

From a record 2,000 entries, the Best of the Best was won by Saatchis

Singapore for a TVC titled "Bruce Lee".

The commercial was created for client Procter & Gamble's Head &

Shoulders shampoo brand.

It was the first time since Neil French's work for Singapore Press

Holdings in 1993 that a Singapore agency has won the top prize.

Saatchis Singapore was also the agency with the best country

performance: it won the much-coveted Best of the Best prize, two Spikes,

14 Certificates of Excellence and six Craft awards.

On an Asia-Pacific level, Saatchis, Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO were the

networks which took home the most number of awards: 27, 16 and nine

Spikes, Certificates or Craft awards respectively.
