The US$800,000 account will see Fleishman Hillard develop international media relations strategies to promote Seoul as a world banking hub and build its reputation among global financial institutions, with emphasis on the opening of the Seoul International Financial Center Tower (SIFC) with AIG, scheduled for the end of the year.
Tanya van Soest, account supervisor at Fleishman Hillard Korea, explained that while the Seoul Metropolitan Government had identified the finance industry as a major growth area for the city and local economy, Seoul’s potential to become a finance centre was not currently recognised internationally.
The project will run until December.
