Five brands crowned as Malaysia's most valuable

KUALA LUMPUR - Maybank, Public Bank, Maxis, Genting and Celcom have emerged as the five most valuable brands in Malaysia at the inaugural Malaysia's Most Valuable Brands (MMVB) gala evening.

Maybank leads the pack of 30 most valuable brands and is valued at RM9.645 billion. Others in the top 5, with values above US$1billion, include Public Bank at RM6.866 billion, Maxis (RM5.308 billion), Genting (RM4.588 billion) and Celcom (RM4.073 billion).
 
The inaugural MMBV is part of a national study, commissioned by Malaysian 4As and conducted by Interbrand, to better understand brand valuations in the country.
 
Interbrand – a leading brand consultancy firm, has also recently conducted similar studies in China, Taiwan and Singapore. It produces The Top 100 Most Valuable Brands annually, published by BusinessWeek.
