FD has also taken a majority stake in Occasions, which has corporate, financial and marketing practices (Media, 11 September). The deal sees Occasions chief Wendy Yeung come on board as MD.
According to Footitt, the dual acquisitions will boost FD’s on-ground presence by more than 40 people across Hong Kong, China (Shanghai and Beijing) and Australia. “There are a lot of opportunities in China. With the increasing number of China companies listing overseas, especially in recent months, we had to be able to offer execution on the ground and international investor relations communications,” said Footitt.
She also pointed to further potential acquisitions in Asia-Pacific in the coming months, but declined to reveal further details.
