The agency did not comply with the Malaysian telco giant's initial briefing which requires agencies to be of a certain size and scope. The remaining six include incumbents Ogilvy & Mather, BBDO and Leo Burnett, and Grey, Saatchi & Saatchi and Y&R.
Meanwhile, Sandip Das, the former deputy managing director of Indian telecom giant Essar Hutchison, has started in his new position as chief executive of Maxis. Das, who took over on January 15th, will provide back-up for Maxis marketing director Tom Schnitker who is overseeing the pitch.
