Fernando Vega Olmos to judge at Spikes 07

<P>The region's most prestigious creative awards show - the Spikes - has confirmed Fernando Vega Olmos, president of Vega-OlmosPonce, Argentina, and Unilever Worldwide creative director, as the show's first-ever jury member from South America. </P> <P>Vega Olmos joins an international jury panel comprising the world's leading creative names. </P> <P>Led by DDB Worldwide chairman Bob Scarpelli, the jury will review creative work from across Asia-Pacific, with the judging and awards show to take place in Bali for the second year running.</P> <P>The three-day event - a key networking opportunity for senior players in the industry - will be held from 25 to 27 April, and will incorporate a creative conference featuring some of the world's most highly regarded creative practitioners, an exhibition of the finalists' work and the presentation of the Spikes awards.</P> <P>As part of the creative conference, Vega Olmos will discuss the similarities between Asia and South America, giving creatives an insight into how the fragmented region has addressed its challenges while building its creative credentials on the global stage. </P> <P>Scarpelli, meanwhile, noted that the Spikes jury would be looking to award work that's "explosive, innovative and groundbreaking".</P> <P>He added: "For the past few years, I have looked across the ocean to Asia to see some of the simplest and most surprising ideas in the world. </P> <P>"Like the rest of the international creative community, I've smiled with delight at the work and the energy I see coming from the region, especially the work from Thailand.  What is in the water in Thailand? And can I have a drink?"<BR></P>
