FedEx pitches China assignment

SHANGHAI - FedEx is pitching creative for a new Mainland assignment to launch its domestic express delivery service.

The pitch reportedly includes FedEx regional incumbent BBDO, along with BBH.

The development comes as FedEx completes its buyout of Tianjin Datian W. Group’s 50 per cent stake in their joint venture, and also acquires Tianjin Datian’s domestic express delivery network, as part of a US$400 million deal that gives it 89 office locations in China.

FedEx will now directly employ more than 6,000 people in China’s surging logistics market, where it competes with UPS, DHL and TNT. Representatives from BBDO and BBH declined to comment.
