Federal Express signs up for SuperCroc show

SINGAPORE: The recent discovery of the fossil remains of one of the

world's largest crocodiles in North Africa has sparked a major

sponsorship deal between National Geographic and Federal Express.

Marketing activities behind the "SuperCroc" TV series included shipping

a flesh and bone model of the creature - the size of a regular

single-decker city bus - to key Asian markets for below-the-line

promotions, including exhibitions and school trips. The tours tarted in

Sydney and will include Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, Malaysia. "We

have our own airline network in Asia and so we can show that we are just

one of a few organisations able to do what we do best," said Malcolm

Sullivan, FedEx managing director, marketing, China and Mid-Pacific.
