FCB's Chan joins M&C Saatchi to head up Hong Kong and China

<p>M&C Saatchi has appointed Ms Janice Chan as general manager for M&C </p><p>Saatchi Hong Kong and China. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>She joins the agency from FCB, one of Hong Kong's top five agencies, </p><p>where she was client service director. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ms Chan began her career in advertising when she worked as an intern at </p><p>Saatchi & Saatchi, Los Angeles in 1987. She received two years of brand </p><p>management training working at Kellogg Australia, after the completion </p><p>of an MBA degree in Sydney. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Having lived away from home for 10 years, she returned to Hong Kong in </p><p>1993 and worked at Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett and Foote Cone & </p><p>Belding. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ms Chan has also worked on some of the world's most famous brands, </p><p>including McDonald's, Procter & Gamble, Pepsi-Cola, Unilever, Kellogg's, </p><p>as well as world-class local companies such as MTR, Standard Chartered </p><p>Bank, Cheung Kong. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Ian Thubron, chief executive officer of M&C Saatchi Hong Kong, </p><p>described Ms Chan as "one of the best and most respected practitioners </p><p>in the industry". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"To attract a person of her experience and calibre is a testament to our </p><p>unique and exciting positioning in the market," Mr Thubron said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Janice will play a critical role as we continue to expand our business </p><p>here in Hong Kong and in Greater China. She joins the leadership team of </p><p>Tan Khiang, Andy Wong, Keiron Simpson and myself at a time of huge </p><p>opportunity for us." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Additionally, M&C Saatchi has announced the promotion and transfer of Ms </p><p>Pip Landers, currently client service director of M&C Saatchi Hong Kong, </p><p>to worldwide account director for the British Airways business, based at </p><p>M&C Saatchi in London. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>She will relocate by the end of the year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Ms Landers joined M&C Saatchi in 1997 and has run some of the agency's </p><p>major accounts, such as British Airways, Qantas, Carlsberg and HSBC. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Losing Pip makes me feel two things: on the one hand sad, because Pip </p><p>is part of the fabric of the agency and also a friend," said Mr </p><p>Thubron. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"On the other hand, proud that M&C Saatchi Hong Kong has nurtured a </p><p>talent which will now play of a broader stage." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>M&C Saatchi Hong Kong has grown from 15 to 35 people since 1998, and now </p><p>bills in excess of HKdollars 200 million, putting it within the top 15 </p><p>agencies in Hong Kong. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Major clients include the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, British </p><p>Airways, Qantas, Asiana Airlines, Hongkong.com, BUPA, Carlsberg, </p><p>iAsiaWorks and Bank of America. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
