FCB loses Sunkist for HK, China to rival MK2

Citrus Growers International, a division of A.S. Watson Group, has appointed local agency MK2 to handle the creative account for its beverage brand Sunkist in Hong Kong and China, following a three-way pitch which included incumbent FCB. OMD will continue to manage the media planning and buying assignments.

Citrus Growers International general manager Jo Jo Poon said: "We appointed MK2 as the agency demonstrated strong passion and showed its commitment, innovation, creative thinking and integrated through-the-line support."

Poon added that this year, initiatives for Sunkist include TV, print and outdoor advertising, targeting consumers and trade. These would be supported by brand promotions, such as concert and movie sponsorships, and in-store display programmes.

MK2 managing director Maurice Chan said the agency would develop a new campaign to better help the brand target teenagers and young adults.

A new TV commercial, created by MK2 and supported by below-the-line events to target consumers, will be released soon.
