MUMBAI: FCB-Ulka has won the Telco Construction Equipment account
and Knoll Pharmaceutical business in India, with total billings of both
accounts expected to reach more than 80 million rupees (about US$1.7 million) annually.
According to FCB-Ulka managing director, Anil Kapoor, the agency pitched
against SSC&B Lintas, BBDO, Hindustan Thompson Associates and five other
agencies for the Teleco Construction business.
"Both of these wins are new businesses and were not handled by any
agency prior to the pitch."
Kapoor said the Telco Construction work would be handled by FCB-Ulka's
direct and interactive units.
FCB-Ulka won the Knoll Pharmaceutical business to handle the Cremadiet
brand. The agency, which runs a healthcare division working on other
brands for the pharmaceutical company, pitched against Lintas.
"The Knoll work is additional business from an existing client. FCB-Ulka
was picked to handle the two businesses over the other agencies because
we have a proven track record with other brands that are in the same
category - automobiles and pharmaceuticals," said Kapoor.
